Change of Command

Today I attended the change of command ceremony for Steve's troop! Cpt Kroells (his now old commander) and the new commander is now Cpt Barnaby! The ceremony itself was really awesome to witness! They gave the wife of the incoming commander beautiful yellow roses, we all sang The Army Song, got to see The Passing of the Colors, and while all this was going on, the troop itself (Havoc Troop) was in formation and since Steve is the Guidon barrier, he was up front! I'm really glad I went!

Cpt Kroells was born in Germany and became an American citizen. The troop has always made fun of him and gives him a lot of crap but he doesn't mind! At the ceremony, one of the guys brought a Hitler hat of some sort and Cpt Kroells actual wore it around HAHA!!I really like him!  He always involved the wives in everything! Hope the new commander is just as great!

Busted water pipes

This morning, while Steve was taking a shower, the water pressure started to reduce and it eventually stopped altogether! I went in to the kitchen to check the facet and not one drop came out. About 15 minutes later, I heard the water come back on and went to check it and it was all Brown! Of course I had to get a picture! Steve went downstairs to check the pipes and all of downstairs was flooded along with the laundry room. There was also a German working on a pipe so hopefully it will be fixed soon. The water just keeps getting darker and darker but this is Military on-post housing, I'm sure they are going to have it fixed soon. I just wish they would hurry up! I need a shower! HA!

Nanstein Castle

Today we drove to Ramstein Air Force Base which is home to the worlds largest AAFES Exchange! AAFES Exchange is the main store that Military posts have.. its on all Military installations, well most. Ours, in Schweinfurt, is much smaller then Ramstein's. Its about a 2 hour or so drive from Schweinfurt. We had lunch at Manchu Wok at the food court and had dinner at Chili's. It was so nice to have a little piece of America! We don't have a Chili's here where we live, we only have a Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Pop eyes and a few other fast food places! It was well needed! While we were visiting Ramstein AFB, we also wanted to check out Nanstein Castle which is a few minutes away from Ramstein! It was so fun to explore! Its a real trip to walk the same halls and all that kings used to roam! Very exciting!

Well, that was our adventure in Wurzberg Germany!!! It was so much fun to see the sights and taste the food.

Wurzberg PART 1

Today we drove to Wurzberg Germany which is about 20-30 minutes away from where we are stationed! We parked the car and started our 8 hour hike around to all the historic places! We sure got our workout! Steve and I both could barley get out of the car once we got in it at the end of the day! We also got to eat at local German bakery.. I kept hearing a lot of good things about German Bakeries and finally got to eat at one. Very fun.. and yummy.
